Foreword
The Syllabus’ layout looks like a Web page: click on the items in the menu on the left to select the topic of interest .... then scroll the list of selected articles and other resources that appear in this page.
A connection to the Internet is required to view the abstract of the selected articles through PubMed (a service of the National Library of Medicine, that provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources) and/or to link to other websites (for example www.tctmd.com, www.theheart.org or www.medscape.com) that offer free full text articles, PowerPoint slides, news, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, etc. The access to these websites dedicated to Interventional Cardiology is still free, usually with registration. Few review articles written by the JIM Faculty or free downloaded from the Internet do not require a connection to the Internet to be viewed.
The last section of the Syllabus (“Links”) offer an extensive list of online journals and useful websites for interventional cardiologists.
I
hope this electronic syllabus can help you giving an overview of recent literature
and Internet resources dedicated to Interventional Cardiology. I tried to make
the syllabus comprehensive and complete, and apologize if I left over relevant
articles and reports.
